In order to assist Vietnamese parents and carers of a person with a disability prepare for transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), SICMAA in partnership with Vietnamese Community Association – Victorian Chapter (VCA-VIC) have organised the following 2 information sessions at SICMAA’s office:

Speaker: Christine Scott from VALID, in conjunction with Alfred Health Carer Services
Sonia works at Carers Victoria and Christine works at VALID, they both have experience in supporting individuals and their families with resolving issues and getting the best out of the NDIS.
Sonia provided an overview of the NDIS and Christine provided some statistics about how the scheme is tracking. They both looked at some misconceptions and myths, and they also offerred carers some practical strategies to plan and prepare.
